Gargano Bike itinerary (4 nights/ 5 days)
Coastal Route
This itinerary is one of the best options for exploring the Gargano National Park by bike, spending four nights in charming and traditional locations.
We will start from Monte Sant'Angelo, a UNESCO site, we will make our way along the Via Francigena del Sud through forests and mountain pastures, and then "dive" into the discovery of the wonderful Gargano coast.
We will discover Mattinata and Vieste, the Pearl of Puglia.
We will completely change our landscape by visiting the majestic Umbra Forest, a UNESCO site, and then close the itinerary again on the coast.
This is truly a magnificent option for your cycling holidays in Puglia in Italy.
Day 1 - Monte Sant'Angelo/ Mattinata
The first stage of our itinerary includes a mixed asphalt/dirt route that will take us from Monte Sant'Angelo, a UNESCO site, towards Mattinata, passing through the mysterious Pulsano Abbey and the wild coast of Macchia.
There will be continuous changes in landscape!
What we will visit:
We will start from Monte Sant'Angelo, a UNESCO site for the Basilica of San Michele, in a cave.

Rione Junno, the castle, the wonderful views before leaving for the Pulsano Abbey.

We will walk along a breathtaking path to reach the Pulsano Abbey.

We will reach the Abbey, famous for its 24 hermitages.

We will descend immersed among olive trees, towards the Costa di Macchia, wild and with wonderful places to stop for a swim.

We will travel along the coast of Macchia, going up to reach Monte Saraceno, a Daunian necropolis with a breathtaking panoramic point.
The day ends in Mattinata, where we will spend the night, not before having taken a last swim in the sea and visited the wonderful historic center.

Day 2 - Mattinata/ Vieste (Via Mounts)
The second stage of our itinerary includes the departure from Mattinata to arrive in Vieste, the pearl of Garano.
We will travel the mountain road, with mixed asphalt/dirt paths.
We will visit the Sgarrazza, one of the most beautiful masserie (historical farmhouses) in Puglia.
What we will visit:
After visiting the historic center of Mattinata and its museum on the Dauni, we take the road "per i monti" that will take us to Vieste.

We will start an uphill road with panoramic views that will take us to the Valico del Lupo area and then enter a dirt road.

We will reach Masseria la Sgarrazza, one of the most beautiful masseria in Puglia.

After stopping to taste the farm's 0 km delicacies, we will get back on the road to Vieste.

Once in Vieste, we can visit the historic center and take part in one of the fishing demonstrations of a Trabucco, the giants of the Gargano sea.

Day 3 - Vieste/Foresta Umbra
In the third stage, we will travel the coastal route Vieste/Peschici being able to visit the trabucchi (ancient "giant" fishing machines of the Gargano).
The panorama will change completely, when we take the road to the Umbra Forest, a UNESCO site for its ancient beechwood.
What we will visit:
After taking a tour of Vieste, and taking a picture on the Stairway of Love, we will take the road that takes us to Peschici.

We will visit the panoramic coast that goes from Vieste to Peschici, with the possibility of taking a swim in Cala Molinella.

We will continue until we reach the Salata necropolis, one of the most important necropolises in the Mediterranean.

The road begins to climb towards Foresta Umbra, the green lung of Puglia.

After taking a tour of the Umbra Forest trails and visiting the Deer Reserve, we stay at the Elda Hotel, ready to leave again the next day.

Day 4 - Foresta/Mattinata
(Via Coast)
The fourth stage includes the return from the Foresta Umbra towards Vieste, the southern coast of Gargano.
We will visit the coast that takes us from Vieste to Mattinata, with breathtaking views peak on the sea.
The itinerary is entirely on asphalt road.
Several bathing stops are possible.
What we will visit:
After visiting the Umbra Forest, we will take the road towards Vieste.

We begin the panoramic road that takes us from Vieste to Mattinata, passing through numerous beaches, including Baia San Felice.

We will visit Baia Campi and its island, before starting the descent towards Pugnochiuso.

The itinerary ends in Mattinata, after visiting the Mattinatella Bay and many other beaches.

Gargano Wild Paradise
The Bike & Hike Gargano itinerary will give you the opportunity to visit Gargano by bike and on foot.
The first stage includes trekking from Monte Sant'Angelo (UNESCO site) to Mattinata, passing through ancient mule tracks.
From the second day we will take the bike to begin the visit of the coast between Mattinata and Vieste, the Pearl of Gargano.

The Sun Mountain
This itinerary is ideal for discovering the beauty of the Gargano National Park.
We will start from Monte Sant'Angelo, a UNESCO site, before exploring the Wonderful Gargano Coast. We will visit Mattinata and Vieste, the Pearl of the Gargano. We will continue with the discovery of the Foresta Umbra, Peschici and Lake Varano.
The itinerary is flexible and customizable with the possibility of alternating days of trekking with cycling on a mixed route (asphalt and white roads) or only asphalt.
You will be able to follow our itinerary in 6, 7 or 8 days.
It will be possible to follow the itinerary self-guided, on your own with the help of our GPX tracks, or guided and with the support of all our services.

Fly to Foggia Airport, less than 1 hour from Gargano National Park with free Foggia-Gargano shuttle bus.

Bari Airport
Fly to Bari Airport, 1 hour and 40 minutes from Gargano National Park.
You can reach the Gargano Park by public transport or by our private shuttle at 25 euros per person, minimum 4 people.
Napoli Airport
Fly to Naples Airport, 2 hours and 30 minutes from Gargano National Park.
You can reach Foggia by public transport and use our free Foggia/Gargano service if you buy our multi-day packages.
Alternatively, you can use our private shuttle (Naples-Gargano) for € 70 per person (minimum 4 people).
Roma Airport
Fly to Rome airports Ciampino or Fiumicino, 4 hours and 30 minutes from Gargano National Park.
You can reach Foggia by public transport and take advantage of our free Foggia/Gargano service if you buy our multi-day packages.
Alternatively, you can take the direct bus that connects Rome to Monte Sant'Angelo, the departure point of our tours.
By train
Reach Foggia station and you will have a free shuttle to/from Gargano.
