More info

Via Francigena

Our city, Monte Sant'Angelo, is the final destination of the St. Michael's Via Francigena, branch of the Via Francigena del Sud.

We offer pilgrims the following services:

  • backpacks transport
  • guide
  • assistance on-site
Events and what to do

Our area offers a rich program of cultural, artistic and historical events.

Mattinata organizes Fextra, the fest of extra virgin olive oil during the harvest (by the end of October) and the Orchidays festival during the blooming of wild orchids by the end of April (Gargano National Park has a real record for the number of different spontaneous orchids species).

Important cultural festivals take place as well in Monte Sant'Angelo: in the picture the traditional and folk music event called Raduno dei Suonatori di Tarantella (July). Michael is a festival dedicated to heritage and spirituality (May) while Monde is a Cinema Festival (September).

How to reach us

The main airport in Puglia is Bari (120 km from Gargano). Once landed, to continue to the north of the region you can choose the train or, during the tourist season, the bus, which is by far the best choice. You will spend about €30/40 per person in total for the roundtrip.

Puglia Easy to Reach is a shuttle-bus operating from early May to mid-October, directly connecting the Gargano and Bari airport with four round trips per day (morning, noon, afternoon, and night).

But, don't worry: if you book an experience or a rental with us, we will provide you with all the useful information and tips. And, keep in mind: we can organize your transfer, don't hesitate to ask us for a quote.
